Is there a better way to spend an afternoon than sailing along the Mayan Riviera on your own private charter tour? We don't think so, and anyone who has been aboard our 46-foot catamaran for an afternoon on the Mexican Caribbean will agree. Snorkel, swim, or sit back and soak up the sun - it's your tour. We specialize in weddings, family reunions, memorial services, corporate events, and other occasions to remember.
At Paradise Catamarans, we work hard to create memories to last a lifetime. Our 46-foot catamaran has been customized for fun and comfort, with plenty of room to stretch out and easy access to the water.
"Each and every person could not have said better things about the trip! The crew was amazingly skilled and friendly, the boat was gorgeous, the food was delicious, the snorkeling was beautiful, and they had a few fun and considerate surprises up their sleeve in honor of our wedding!"
The Mexican Caribbean is our home, and we'll treat you to an experience you won't find anywhere else. For the snorkeling portion of your charter tour, we've picked a pristine location off Punta Maroma. While the beach at Punta Maroma is famous for its powdery white sands, the turquoise waters offshore offer snorkelers and swimmers a crystal-clear view of one of the most extensive reef formations along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. The area is sheltered from strong currents, providing a natural sanctuary to a wide array of tropical marine life and an underwater playground for visitors of all skill levels.
You'll swim at your own pace above the seabed below, with an unhurried view of the coral reef and marine life, under the supervision of your snorkeling guide. A "Fish Identification Card" is available upon request to help you better understand the diversity of the Riviera Maya ecosystem. Whether you are snorkeling in the shallows or exploring deeper areas that extend down to 25 feet, you'll enjoy every minute of your time in the water.
Because safety always comes first at Paradise Catamarans, our English-speaking host will conduct a safety briefing as we set sail and provide snorkeling instruction once we reach the reef. We employ professional snorkeling guides with CPR and first aid certifications. One of our guides is assigned to supervise no more than twelve snorkelers.
Our top-quality equipment complements the professionalism of our guides. You'll appreciate our semi-dry, high-performance snorkels. Unlike the cheaper models commonly provided to tourists, the purge valves in semi-dry snorkels minimize the amount of water entering the breathing tubes. Moreover, all of our equipment is sterilized after each use. (For the sake of the environment, we encourage our guests to use the sterilized, high-performance snorkels we stock. However, new single-use snorkel tubes are also available.)
In addition to the fun in the water, relaxing on the Paso Doble has its own rewards. Our guests are welcome to enjoy complimentary ceviche, guacamole, salsa and totopos (tortilla chips), rum, gin, vodka, whiskey, tequila, popular mixers, beer, wine, soda, juice, and bottled water. As an option, you may request a premium international open bar and/or assortment of hors d'oeuvres and sandwiches. Our hors d'oeuvres and sandwiches menu typically includes roast beef baguettes, biscuits with prosciutto and cheese, croissants with ham and cheese, tropical garden and lettuce salad, fresh Mexican salsa with chips, and fresh fruit. The Paso Doble also features a shaded seating area, a high-quality sound system, and bathroom facilities.
Charter schedule: Please click our tour schedule calendar (see the link below) to find a date that fits your plans. Our charter rates feature four full hours aboard the Paso Doble. (On many days, we may be able to start your tour later in the afternoon to give you an ocean view of sunset on the Mexican Caribbean.)
How to Meet Us: We can arrange transportation as an option from many of the leading hotels and resorts between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Otherwise, you can meet as at Marina El Cid in Puerto Morelos. Puerto Morelos is roughly midway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. You will access Puerto Morelos from Highway 307, the main north-south road along the Mayan Riviera. As you approach Puerto Morelos, turn east toward the ocean onto Calle Jose Maria Morelos. Continue for about 2.5 kilometers until you reach Puerto Morelos. Turn south on Niños Héroes and continue for about 2 kilometers until you reach Marina El Cid. At the gate of the marina, please inform the attendant that you are a guest of Paradise Catamarans. Parking is available inside the marina.
14 days before your tour, we will send you an email to remind you of where and when to meet us.
What to Bring: We will provide high-quality snorkeling equipment. You may want to bring the following items:
Biodegradable reef-safe sunscreen.
Swimsuit and cover-up.
iPods and CDs.
Refunds and Balance Payments: You will receive a full refund if you cancel your reservation at least 7 days in advance. We also ask that you submit any changes to your guest list at least 3 days before your charter so we can finalize our preparations for transportation, food, and staffing. Needless to say, you will receive a full refund if weather conditions or other factors force us to cancel your reservation. Balance payments in Mexico must be paid in cash with U.S. dollars or Mexican pesos. If you wish to pay your balance in advance by credit card, a surcharge of 4 percent of the payment amount will be charged to your credit card.
